Trike For The Troops and Soldier's Angels Will Team Up Again To Provide Laptops For Injured Soldiers

This year we are very excited to announce that we will again be partnering with Soldier's Angels,  a volunteer based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Patti Patton-Bader.  Soldiers' Angels mission is to provide aide and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and the Coast Guard and their amazing families. Their volunteers have sent tens of thousands of care packages and hundreds of thousands of letters to our deployed heroes.  They have helped those who have been wounded with First Response Packs directly at the Combat and Support Hospitals (CASH) and at the major hospital in Germany, and have provided care and comfort to those who are now in our military hospitals here at home.  This and much, much more has been accomplished by the many volunteers of this organization.  This fine organization was recognized by the United States Congress with a "Certificate of Congressional Recognition" in October, 2007.    Please visit the Soldier's Angels website: www.soldiersangels.com

Project Valour-IT

Soldier's Angels' Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, helps provide voice-controlled and adaptive laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone or using other adaptive technologies, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the 'Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field. This Year's Ride!

This year, Rick will ride on Independence Day, July 4th, 2010, and will be featured in the Highlands Ranch, Colorado Independence Day Parade.  As in previous years, the Trike has some new enhancements, including a working propeller.

Donations will go directly to Soldier's Angels in support of  Project Valour-IT. Each voice controlled laptop costs approximately $800.00. In 2008 we raised $10,600.   Our goal in 2010 is to raise $12,000 to help 15 soldiers.
